Established in 1912 and located in the heart of Washington County, Aloha,Oregon (pronounced Ah-low-wa) is a suburban area with a population of around 50,000 residents. Controversy exists over whether a railroad magnet or a local postmaster named the town (and transposed the letters) which is 10 miles west of Portland, Oregon. Aloha benefits from its close proximity to Beaverton, Oregon (home of Nike) and location to other high-tech companies in the area.

 Shopping and Dining

While many popular chain stores dominate the Aloha shopping scene, there are local gems worth visiting. Browse for books at Jan’s Paperback or find a board game at Rainy Day Games. A stop at Estate Sales Unlimited is in order for bargains and deals on furniture and home items. Shop for antiques at Jill’s Cottage or purchase gifts, clothing and collectibles at Aloha Gallery. Quilters can get quilting and craft supplies at The Frayed Edge and gag and novelty gifts are aplenty at Discount Dan’s. For a real taste of Aloha, stop at Bill’s Farm Fresh for seasonal produce and plants.

For shoppers looking for high-end retail options, The Beaverton Town Square offers unique outdoor shopping and Cedar Hills Crossing is home to many popular department and clothing stores along with electronics stores. While you're here, stop at and independently-owned Powell’s Books and leave with an armful of new and used books.  Rob Levy is your neighborhood expert on Aloha, Oregon blah blah blah call to action to contact......
